TRACK GAUGES IN SPAIN

Gauge – International : 1.435m - All new high speed lines (Alta Velocidad) are now being built to this gauge.

Gauge – Spain : 1.668m (Broad Gauge) - This is the regular gauge that the national RENFRE stock uses.

Gauge – Spain : 1.0m (Narrow gauge – Vía de estrecha) - A few lines remain to the metre gauge. Most are operated in the north by FEVE and a few down south. Others are operated by FCGV in the region of Valencia. The island of Majorca also has a narrow gauge network.
